Telesis Science Olympiad team. We rocked it!
Telesis Staff is congratulated by Dr. Mitchell and the Board for Gold Ribbon Status!
It is a sincere honor and privilege to welcome you to our academy. We are very excited about beginning our seventh year as a No Excuses University Preparatory Academy. NEU coupled with our focus on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) will prepare our children for college and career readiness. We continue our professional relationship with the California Science Center. This partnership, in its third year, supports the staff in designing inquiry based science and engineering lessons around the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and are integrated throughout the curriculum.
This past year our students won many awards. We continue to compete in the Southern California Science Olympiad. Our Elementary division received a Gold medal, and our Middle School division placed in several events. Additionally, our “Botball” robotics team placed fourth and were awarded the coveted “Judges Choice” award. We look forward to continuing to program Vex robots, design using 3D printers, Laser Cutters, and code beginning in kinder and first grade.
I am so proud of the work that is taking place at Telesis. The hard work of the staff, the students, parents, and the support of our community has earned us the title of California Gold Ribbon School, and the Title I Academic Achievement Award, and California Honor Roll School. Our entire staff is committed to providing an outstanding educational environment that addresses the needs of every child. We also believe that students who learn and develop outstanding character traits will go further and achieve more in life.
Telesis is home to many wonderful families who make education a priority and support our school in so many ways. It is our hope and desire that you will also connect with our community and make it your own.
So I thank you for choosing Telesis as your place of learning and we all look forward to an awesome 2019-2019 school year!
Telesis Academy of Science and Math is a S.T.E.A.M Academy and the first ever No Excuses Prep Academy in the Nation. Our culture is rooted in the belief that each and every student should have the opportunity to attend college should they choose to do so. We are a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics Academy (S.T.E.A.M.) and are currently partnered with the California Science Center. The partnership with the California Science Center is allowing us to incorporate the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) into our teaching TK-8th grade as well as learning to think and work like Engineers.
